RESOURCE MANUAL FOR CATHOLICS IN ASIA
From the Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (FABC)
One can assume that these members of the faithful have little knowledge about the Church’s teachings and that they probably have never heard of Nostra Aetate, let alone understand or subscribe to its teachings. In fact, even some of our own priests and other pastoral leaders are not familiar with documents such as Dialogue and Mission or with the FABC’s Theology of Harmony. Hence, we have to admit that there is indeed a gap between what the FABC and the Church in Asia is saying about interreligious dialogue and what is actually happening at the grassroots levels.
The publication of this Resource Manual, therefore, attempts to address this issue and hopefully, will play a small role in bridging the gap between the theory and the practice. Specifically, the Resource Manual contains all sorts of materials which could be used for the education and formation of persons for interreligious dialogue.
