This is how Judgment is made: Light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For whoever does wrong hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, for fear that his deeds will be seen as evil.
But whoever lives according to the truth comes into the light, so that it can be clearly seen that his works have been done in God.”
REFLECTION:
The scripture passage from John 3:16 is perhaps one of the most well-known texts in the bible, telling us of the immensity of God’s love which merited for us a Savior.
It is this immense love that, in the early days of the Christian community unleashes such a tremendous power that the very adversaries of the
apostles found themselves constantly baffled and confused at how these poor, uneducated and powerless men and women became so bold in their preaching of the Gospel.
“God,” says St. Augustine, “is more intimate to us than our most intimate thoughts.”
There is a depth to his love and care for us that goes beyond even the deepest kind of love we know.
