For no one has seen the Father except the One who comes from God; he has seen the Father.
Truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.
Though your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, they died. But here you have the bread from heaven,
so that you may eat of it, and not die. I am the living bread from heaven; whoever eats of this bread will live forever.
The bread I shall give is my flesh, and I will give it for the life of the world.”
REFLECTION:
Each one of us is meant to be a messenger, an ambassador of Jesus and his Good News. We do this through our words,
our ways, our manner of living, our behavior, our actions, our values and principles. Everything that we do,
and everything that we are – are meant to be instruments by which Jesus’ message is communicated to everyone
– “for the life of the world”. It’s a tall order, but we do not do it alone; Jesus is always there to strengthen us.
Ask yourself if there is anything in your way of doing things, of speaking, of being, that is inconsistent with
the life and ways of someone who has been “bought at a very high price”, someone for whom the Beloved Son of God
gave his life and continues to give his life? If there are such inconsistencies, bring them to prayer and then
to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
