This new book on interreligious dialogue presents a new challenge and opportunity to reflect more on the specific mission of the Church, which is to reach out to the “peripheries” as Pope Francis reminds us to do. Today the Church faces many “peripheries” in the world to answer the call of the poor, the cry of those who suffer injustices as well as the many other voices. We are called to particularly reflect more on the “relations” among Christians and Muslims and together to improve our dialogue with Indigenous Peoples and people of other faiths and cultures. We have also to face together other “peripheries”, especially reaching out to those who have lost their faith and those who are victims of the many forms of poverty and injustices present today.
