Gospel: John 13:21-33, 36-38

After saying this, Jesus was distressed in spirit, and said plainly, “Truly, one of you will betray me.” The disciples then looked at one another, wondering whom he meant. One of the disciples, the one Jesus loved, was reclining near Jesus; so Simon Peter signaled him to ask Jesus whom he meant.

And the disciple, who was reclining near Jesus, asked him, “Lord, who is it?” Jesus answered, “I shall dip a piece of bread in the dish, and he to whom I give it, is the one.”

So Jesus dipped the bread in the dish and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. As Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus then said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.” (more…)

  • MICHAEL P. DELOS REYES
    Author of the book on Philippine Holy Week processions, PRUSISYON: PAGHAHANDA AT PAGDIRIWANG which won as Best Book in Theology and Liturgy in the 2007 Cardinal Sin
    Catholic Book Awards. In 2015, the sequel to his first book, HOLY WEEK AND EASTER PROCESSIONS: A LITURGICO-PASTORAL GUIDE was released. SALVE REGINA: ON CROWNING IMAGES OF THE VIRGIN MARY, which tackles the pious practice of pontifical and episcopal coronations of images of the Blessed Mother was a Finalist in the Liturgy Category of the 10th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards. His latest book, MORENA GRACIOSA

    THE DEVOTION TO THE VIRGIN OF ANTIPOLO THROUGH THE CENTURIES, won the
    Best Book in Liturgy in the 11th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards.
  • KENDRICK IVAN B. PANGANIBAN
    a lay theologian, Church heritage advocate, and heraldry artist from Hagonoy, Bulacan in the Diocese of Malolos. He finished Master of Arts degrees in Systematic Theology and in Pastoral Ministry at Immaculate Conception Major Seminary, Guiguinto, Bulacan. He also finished the Licentiate in Sacred Theology in Church History (MCL) at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, Manila He started DOMVS AVREA Ecclesiastical Designs in 2016, a graphic arts and heraldry initiative specializing in coats of arms and profiling for ecclesiastical organizations, and figures. He is also the author of The Role of Shrines in view of the New Evangelization: Pope Francis’ Theology on Shrines and Pilgrimages applied in the Philippine Context, the Best Book in Liturgy during the 15th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards in 2021. He is also currently the Lay-Secretary of the Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines under the CBCP-ECMI. He was enrolled as a member of the International Marian Association in 2022. He was also awarded the honoris causa degree Doctor of Pastoral Studies in 2023 by Ybarra Scholars & Fellows for his inputs to pastoral work for shrines and devotions.
  • JOSÉ MARIO BAUTISTA MAXIMIANO
    The author is a multi-awarded and prolific Filipino Catholic theologian, life coach, and public educator and is currently the lead convenor of the Love Our Pope Movement (LOPM). He was a member of the Catholic Theological Society of America (CTSA), an organization of theologians that acclaimed his book MCMLXXII 500-Taong Kristiyano (1872-1972) for winning the “Best Book in Ministry” award at the 16th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards in 2022. Radio Veritas Asia came out with a short book review of the author’s Church Reforms 2, citing Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, Archbishop of Yangon and President of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) who said that the book is “of great interest and benefit for the Church and all peoples of Asia.” The late Jaime Cardinal Sin, Archbishop of Manila, wrote forewords to the author’s early works published in 1991, 1993, and 1994
  • SR. MARY JOHN MANANZAN
    is a Missionary Benedictine sister. She obtained her doctorate degree in Philosophy major in Linguistic Philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy (summa cum laude) and a degree in Missiology at the Wilhelmsuniversitaet in Munster, Germany (magna cum laude). Her involvement includes charting new paths in the academe and being with the masses, especially women. As a feminist-activist she has given birth to a lot of women-centered programs, among them the Institute of Women’s Studies, Women Ecology and Wholeness Farm, and the Women Crisis Center. For eighteen years, she was the national chairperson of GABRIELA, a broad alliance of women’s organizations. She served two terms as a president of St. Scholastica’s College and currently on her second term as a prioress of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of the Manila Priory.
