Gospel: Luke 8:19-21
Then his mother and his relatives came to him; but they could not get to him because of the crowd. Someone told him, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside and wish to meet you.” Then Jesus answered, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
Reflection
To be united and to love one another.
“The family that prays together stays together.” A Christian family will be like this if it follows what Jesus said: “Those who hear the word of God and put it into practice, these are my mother and my brothers.” A home without love for God will not have unity and peace. Members will continue to fight because they do not see the importance of being a family.
May we listen to and live out the message of the Gospel to avoid so much chaos and conflict within our homes. Let us recognize and obey the will of the Father in heaven, who desires nothing more than for his children to be united and to love one another.
